Record Setters

Year-to-Date (January-July) Record Setters for Select Cities

The stations shown on the map below had one of their three warmest, coolest, wettest or driest January-July records. Stations with a bold white circle saw values that exceed any previous July value at the station's current location. The smaller circles indicate outcomes that were 2nd or 3rd place among a station's history.

Please note: in order to avoid many overlapping or crowded dots in a region, a subset of only about 200 stations across the United States were considered. There are very likely many additional stations having a "top three" or "bottom three" season not depicted here. The stations under consideration are listed in other supplemental pages (temperature, precipitation).
