NOAA Monthly Climate Briefings
NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) recently lost a significant number of staff.
Under these staffing constraints, NCEI is no longer able to support the same level of communications around its monthly temperature and precipitation reports, data, and associated products. This includes no longer being able to provide the media with monthly briefings on the U.S. and global temperature and precipitation analyses.
At this time, NCEI will continue to publish the underlying monthly data and provide a high-level summary on its website according to its previously published schedule.
The NOAA Monthly Climate Briefings occur on the third Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. Information on how to join the webinar are announced in advance through the NOAA Communications & External Affairs - Media Advisories.
NOAA climate and weather experts review key findings from the U.S. and Global Monthly Reports and provide an outlook for the temperature, precipitation, and hazards for the upcoming season.
The monthly and seasonal analyses from NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information and Climate Prediction Center are part of the suite of climate services NOAA provides government, business and community leaders so they can make informed decisions to help protect life and property and their economic livelihood.
