Carbonate chemistry in Mission Aransas Estuary from May 2014 to Feb 2017 and Dec 2018 to Feb 2020 (NCEI Accession 0291439)
This dataset contains chemical and physical data collected in the Gulf of Mexico from 2014-05-02 to 2020-02-25. These data include Calcium, depth, dissolved inorganic Carbon, pH, salinity from water bottle samples, and total alkalinity (TA). The instruments used to collect these data include Apollo SciTech AS-C3 Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC) analyzer, Automatic titrator, Conductivity Meter, Multi Parameter Portable Meter, Spectrophotometer, Van Dorn water sampler, and pH Sensor. These data were collected by Melissa R. McCutcheon and Xinping Hu of Texas A&M, Corpus Christi as part of the "CAREER: The Impact of Hydrologic State on CO2 Flux and Acidification in Subtropical Estuaries (CO2 Flux and Acidification in Subtropical Estuaries)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2021-01-28.
The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO:
Carbonate chemistry in Mission Aransas Estuary (2014-2017, 2018-2020)
Dataset Description:
Acquisition Description:
Samples were collected every two weeks (March-October) or monthly (November-February) using Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve Small Boat. Water samples from both the surface (~0.5 meters) and the bottom of the water column (within 0.5 m from the sediment-water interface) were obtained using a Van Dorn water sampler.
