This dataset contains physical data collected on Small boats - CRRF during cruise Palau_lakes in the Philippine Sea from 2013-09-11 to 2013-10-06. These data include density and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include Multi-Sensor Core Logger, Percussion Corer, and Piston Corer. These data were collected by Michael N Dawson of University of California-Merced and Julian P. Sachs of University of Washington as part of the "Do Parallel Patterns Arise from Parallel Processes? (PaPaPro)" project and "Dimensions of Biodiversity (Dimensions of Biodiversity)" program. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2019-07-12.

Core Logger Physical Properties for Palau Lakes Sediment Cores

Dataset Description:
Acquisition Description:
Un-split core sections were received at the National Lacustrine Core Repository (LaCore) facility and analyzed via Geotek MSCL core logger. Gamma ray attenuation density, non-contacting electrical resistivity, p-wave velocity, and magnetic susceptibility were measured via LaCore’s standard procedures. Acoustical impedance and fractional porosity are calculated properties.
