Wind speed, temperature, and PAR observations from Massachusetts from 2012-2015 (NCEI Accession 0278261)
This dataset contains meteorological and physical data collected at shoreside Massachusetts during deployment Spivak_2012 at Rowley and Woods Hole, MA from 2014-06-20 to 2014-11-25. These data include PAR and wind_speed. The instruments used to collect these data include Air Temperature Sensor, Photosynthetically Available Radiation Sensor, and Vector-Averaging Wind Recorder. These data were collected by Amanda Spivak of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as part of the "Eutrophication Effects on Sediment Metabolism and Benthic Algal-bacterial Coupling: An Application of Novel Techniques in a LTER Estuary (benthic_PP_at_TIDE)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2019-04-05.
The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO:
Wind speed, temperature, and PAR observations.
Dataset Description:
Atmospheric conditions were recorded by three meteorological towers at PIE-LTER . Wind speed (m s-1) and temperature (deg C, T15min) were measured 14 m above the marsh (42.742 deg N, 70.830 deg W). Wind speed was scaled to 10m height (wnd10). Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR15min; umol m-2 s-1) was recorded by two towers that were deployed at different times between May-November (42.724 deg N, 70.856 deg W and 42.739 deg N, 70.827 deg W).Raw benthic chlorophyll and phaeophytin data from each experimental time point in June, August, and October 2013.
