XBT and CTD observations collected from the R/V Pelican PE16-10 cruise in the Northern Gulf of Mexico from 2015-10-27 to 2015-10-28 (NCEI Accession 0233020)
This dataset contains CTD profiles and temperature profiles collected by expendable bathythermograph (XBT) collected from the R/V Pelican during cruise PE16-10 between 2015-10-27 and 2015-10-28. Measurements are reported from three stations and include temperature, fluorescence, oxygen, conductivity, salinity, and sound velocity profiles.

Supplemental Information | 1. GRIIDC dataset R4.x261.231:0004: XBT: File contains a spreadsheet describing each text file including site, date (dd-Mon-yr), time (local CST), latitude (DD MM.mm), longitude (DD MM.mm), and serial number (corresponds to the text file name). Each text file contains the following variables: time (seconds from deployment), resistance (ohms), depth (m), temperature (degrees Celsius), and calculated sound speed (m/s). 2. GRIIDC dataset R4.x261.000:0001; CTD: depth (m), fluorescence (micrograms/L), oxygen raw (V), conductivity (S/m), sound velocity (m/s), temperature (ITS-90, degrees C), salinity (PSU) |
Purpose | The purpose of cruise was to release and collect the five EARS moorings deployed in June 2015, find and recover the SLOCUM glider deployed 2015-10-12, collect additional oceanographic data(temperature, salinity, oxygen concentration, plankton fluorescence, bathymetry, sound velocity), and take additional water samples for microbiological research. This cruise was led by chief scientists Dr. Natalaia Sidorovskaia. |
