Biological, chemical, in situ, physical, and profile data collected by Antarctic Climate & Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre, Australian Antarctic Program Partnership, and Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization at OceanSITES site SOTS from 1997-09-26 to 2022-04-12 (NCEI Accession 0130050)
Biological, chemical, in situ, physical, and profile oceanographic data were collected, including CARBON - ORGANIC - SEDIMENT, CARBON - TOTAL PARTICULATE - SEDIMENT, CHLOROPHYLL, CHLOROPHYLL A CONCENTRATION, CONDUCTIVITY, DEPTH - OBSERVATION, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, NITRATE, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PARTICULATE ORGANIC NITROGEN (PON), PHOTOSYNTHETIC ACTIVE RADIATION (PAR), Particulate Inorganic Carbon, SALINITY, SEDIMENTS, SEDIMENTS - ORGANIC CARBON, SEDIMENTS - TOTAL CARBON, Silicon, WATER DENSITY, WATER TEMPERATURE, WAVE HEIGHT - SIGNIFICANT, pH, suspended solids, and turbidity from moored buoys at the Southern Ocean Time Series (SOTS) using C-T recorder, CTD, CTD - moored CTD, GPS, PAR Sensor, Turbidity Meter, fluorometer, gas sensors, oxygen sensor, pressure sensor, spectrophotometer, and trap - sediment from 1997-09-26 to 2022-04-12. These data were provided to one of the OceanSITES Data Assembly Centers (DAC). The DAC formatted this information into the OceanSITES file format and passed it on to the Global Data Assembly Centers (GDAC). This dataset includes all of the data that has been provided to NCEI for this site.
OceanSITES is a worldwide system of long-term, open-ocean reference stations measuring dozens of variables and monitoring the full depth of the ocean from air-sea interactions down to the seafloor. It is a network of stations or observatories measuring many aspects of the ocean's surface and water column using, where possible, automated systems with advanced sensors and telecommunications systems, yielding high time resolution, often in real-time, while building a long record.
