WODselect COMMA SEPARATED VALUE ("csv") FORMAT DESCRIPTION
For technical help or to report problems, please e-mail OCL.help@noaa.gov
GENERAL:
The "WODselect csv format" is a space and comma-separated values format.
Each value field is separated by commas, for easy computer access of the data,
with space separation to also make the file readable with the human eye.
Each oceanographic cast
starts with the keyword CAST in the first column, and is split
into the following general content sections which are marked
with the following
text labels in the first column field:
Biological code information can be read from the WOD code list.
GENERAL FIELDS: | ||
---|---|---|
Starting Indicator | Ending Indicator | Content |
CAST | next section start | Station position, date, and cruise identification |
METADATA | next section start | Country, NODC accession#, ship/platform, project, institution, meteorology, and other measurement related information |
VARIABLES | END OF VARIABLES SECTION | profile measurements (if present) |
BIOLOGY METADATA | BIOLOGY | plankton sampling information (if present) |
BIOLOGY | END OF BIOLOGY SECTION | plankton measurements (if present) |
