This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, bathymetry, sediment samples taken by CTD and the Sea Beam 3012 multibeam system from the research vessel Ke Xue, cruise HOBAB5, KEXUE-CN 20106443808. Bottom video recording is also included. This cruise is U.S. State Department MSR U2018-012 as part of the World Data Service for Geophysics and Oceanography. Processed CTD data are in CNV, raw CTD data are also included. Multibeam sonar data are in the Sea Beam 3012 format. Video is in MPEG format. Report is in PDF. Sediment analysis is described in publications listed in the Document section.

Purpose The survey aimed to indicate the control of arc-backarc magmatism, and to illuminate the influence on seawater near seafloor by active hydrothermal activity. This is MSR cruise U2018-012.
