This data package contains water chemistry data and mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) tagging data derived from research and fishing vessels. Mahi-mahi were tagged as part of a research cruise onboard the R/V F.G. Walton Smith 16-day research cruise WS19159 (2019-06-08 to 2019-06-23). Satellite tagging data and tracks were derived from mahi-mahi tagged with Wildlife Computers Inc. pop-up satellite archival tags (PSATs) programmed to collect light, depths, temperature, and acceleration values and then transmitted via the Argos satellite network. Tag data were collected in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic from 2019-06-13 to 2019-08-26. The dataset includes water chemistry data (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)) measured from onboard recovery/incubation tanks. Tagging data includes all the tagging information such as catch and releases location, fish size and condition, and associated tag number. Flow-through underway (surface water) environmental data collected for the duration of the cruise are available from Rolling Deck 2 Repository under Cruise ID WS19159.

Supplemental Information
Submission Package ID: PEJGY1
Purpose The purpose of these data collection is to characterize the vertical habitat and surface water conditions where adult mahi-mahi was captured; understand the migrations, habitat use, and acceleration behavior of wild mahi-mahi not exposed to oil; and to provide information about the conditions and water chemistry in the recovery tank.
