CTD data collected from a Fisheries Oceanography in Coastal Alabama (FOCAL) transect on 2019-06-04 (NCEI Accession 0201339)
Along the FOCAL Transect on the Alabama shelf, a CTD survey was conducted using Seabird SBE 25 Sealogger CTD on 06/04/2019. It measured depth (m), salinity (PSU), temperature (ITS-90, deg C), oxygen (% Saturation), oxygen (mg/L), pH (pH), specific conductance (µS/cm), beam attenuation (1/m), beam transmission (%), density (kg/m3), conductivity (µS/cm), PAR (µmol m-1 s-1), and fluorescence (mg/m3).

Purpose | The objective of this ongoing research is to identify the influence of fluvial water and its suspended particulate matter, freshwater influx and nutrient load on coastal regions including the ecosystem and its susceptibility to hypoxia and low saline events. This particular study aims to understand the nature of buoyant freshwater plumes in shallow micro-tidal environments. |
