Title: | WATER TEMPERATURE and Other Data from R.V. MADIDIHANG and Other Platforms from 1978-07-22 to 1978-07-26 (NCEI Accession 9700129) |
Abstract: | Zooplankton, temperature, hydrochemical, and other data were collected from bottle and nets casts in the South China Sea from the R/V Madidihang and other platforms from 22 July 1978 to 26 July 1978. Bottle data include profiles of temperature, salinity, and pH. Bottle data also include concentration profiles of oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, and sulfate. Net data include zooplankton taxonomic wet weights and taxonomic names. Data was submitted by the Institute of Marine Research and are in a comma separated value (.csv) format. |

Supplementary information: | The publication listed below is related to the data collection and is available from the NOAA Central Library: Hydrological, biological and geological observation in the Malaka Strait by the R.V. Madidihang, July 17-August 5, 1978. Jakarta, [Indonesia] : Institute of Marine Research, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, 1978. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
