The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: | Cloud amount/frequency, NITRATE and other data from CAPRICORNE and MARION DUFRESNE in the NE Atlantic from 1982-07-06 to 1987-10-30 (NCEI Accession 9100078) |
Abstract: | The Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data were collected as part of Seasonal Equatorial Atlantic (SEQUAL) project. Data was collected from NE Atlantic (limit-40 W) using ships CAPRICORNE and MARION DUFRESNE. The data was collected over a period spanning from July 6, 1982 to October 30 1987. Replacement for damaged tape containing French CTD data was submitted by Dr. Gilles Reverdin, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Palisades, NY. Data has been processed and is available in F022-CTD-Hi Resolution file format of NODC. |

Supplementary information: | Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis. Points of contact for this data set include: Contact info: Agency: LAMONT-DOHERTY EARTH OBSERVATORY PI: Reverdin, Dr. Gilles Address: address: ROUTE 9W city: PALISADES state: NY postal: 10964 country: UNITED STATES In this accession, NCEI has archived multiple versions of these data. The latest (and best) version of these data has the largest version number. |
