| Abstract: | Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Inter-tidal/Sub-tidal Organisms and Habitats (F100) format. The F100 format is used for data from field sampling of marine organisms in intertidal or subtidal habitats. The data are collected to provide information about species abundance and distribution. Data reported may include: position, date, and time; sea surface temperature and salinity, sediment size analysis, habitat descriptors, and other supporting environmental data; sampling methods and equipment; species identification and organism counts and weights for any number of species; biological condition of individual specimens including age, sex, dimensions, and parasites; and stomach contents analysis. A text record is available for reporting comments. |

| Supplementary information: | These data files are in NODC F100 format. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM.
