| Abstract: | Physical, chemical, nutrient, and other data were collected from the Gulf of California from the THOMAS G. THOMPSON from 05 March 1972 to 09 April 1972. Data were collected by the University of Washington (UW) as part of the International Decade of Ocean Exploration / Coastal Upwelling Ecosystems Analysis (IDOE/CUEA). Physical data includes surface water temperature, sigma-t, and sonic depth. Chemical and nutrients data includes concentrations of ammonia, nitrate, phosphate, chlorophyll a, and silicate. Thompson cruise 67 (Mescal I--Outfall I). Seattle, Wash. : University of Washington, Department of Oceanography, [1972-]. Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM.
