Abstract: This dataset contains bottle data collected aboard R/V HERMANO GINES from the continental shelf of Venezuela during 19 January, 2009 (CAR-153); 16 May to 17 May, 2009 (CAR157); 5 Nov, 2009 (CAR163); 6 May, 2010 (CAR169) and 6 Dec to 7 Dec, 2010 (CAR175). Data were collected by the State University of New York, Stony Brook, in support of the Carbon Retention in a Colored Ocean (CARIACO) project. Bottle parameters include hydrogen sulfide, methane, sulfite, thiosulfate, elemental sulfur, total bacterial cell counts and bacterial productivity.
