Title: |
SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard OCEANUS from 2009-08-01 to 2009-08-31 (NCEI Accession 0059926) |
Abstract: |
The data logging system on OCEANUS recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the Aegean Sea, Alboran Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean Sea - Eastern Basin, Mediterranean Sea - Western Basin, North Atlantic Ocean and Strait of Gibraltar from 2009-08-01 to 2009-08-31. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted four versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system, first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data, and second-level (visually) QCed data. This dataset contains all these data. |
