The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. Title: Physical ECOHAB-1 data from moorings and other instruments in the Gulf of Maine by the the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Woods Hole, from 1993-03-19 to 1995-06-17 (NCEI Accession 0042026)
Abstract: This dataset contains part of the USGS inventory of moored time series data, including the complete datasets and supporting metadata / associated files for field activities from the ECOLOGY OF HARMFUL ALGAL BLOOM I (ECOHAB) Field Program to investigate the transport and fate of toxic dinoflagellate blooms in the Western Gulf of Maine. Measurements include physical data from moored current meters, tide gauges, and bottom mounted tripods, and include current, temperature, conductivity, salinity, attenuation, and sigma theta. The files are organized into separate directories for the Basic Sampling, Hourly Averaged Data, Field Activity Reports, Field Activity Summaries, and Trip Reports. Trip Maps (.png), metadata files, and Google Earth KML files are included in the root directory.

Collaborators include the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, University of Maine, and others. The data includes Field Activity Reports for the following cruises: 93004, 93013, 93032, 93033, 93034, 94009, 94010, 94013, 94021, 94034, 94046, 94047, 94049, 94050, and 95045, covering the period from March 1993 to February 1995.

Data are provided at both basic sampling interval and hourly averages from each cruise. The data are stored in NETwork Common Data Format (netCDF) files using the EPIC (Equatorial Pacific Information Collection) conventions defined by the NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory. Associated ASCII files and Google Earth KML files are also included.
