Title: Microplastic and anthropogenic concentrations in the gastrointestinal tracts of tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) caught in the Northern Gulf of Mexico during 2019-04-24 to 2019-10-28 (NCEI Accession 0292729)
Abstract: This study estimated the concentration of microplastics (i.e. plastics measuring less than 5mm; reported in unit of counts of microplastics/individual) and anthropogenic particles (reported in unit of counts of particles/individual) in the gastrointestinal tracts of gastrointestinal tracts of tiger sharks (Galeocerdo cuvier) caught in the Northern Gulf of Mexico during 2019-04-24 to 2019-10-28. The sharks were caught with longline with hooks. Precaudal length, fork length, stretch total, and wet weight were measured for each shark prior to dissection. This dataset contains the results of individual sharks, in a spreadsheet format.
