Title: Forecast products and associated satellite imagery from the Gulf of Mexico from 2023-01-01 to 2023-12-31 created by the NOAA Harmful Algal Bloom Operational Forecast System (HAB-OFS) (NCEI Accession 0279700)
Abstract: This archive information package contains outputs from the NOAA Harmful Algal Bloom Operational Forecast System (HAB-OFS) in the form of processed satellite imagery in GeoTIFF format and comma-separated text files, beginning on 2023-01-01 and continuing to 2023-12-31. The HAB-OFS is operated by the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) to produce forecasts for harmful algal blooms (HABs) of Karenia brevis (red tide) in the Gulf of Mexico. The forecast products include beach-level respiratory irritation forecasts based on the analysis of information from data providers, 8-day composite satellite imagery showing bloom extent, field observations, and a bloom intensification forecast. The forecast products are updated throughout the day as source data becomes available and accessible via the Gulf of Mexico HAB forecast web page.

Note: In 2021 major enhancements were made to the Gulf of Mexico HAB-OFS. The update impacted the products generated for the forecast system.
