| Abstract: | This dataset contains physical data collected on R/V Atlantic Explorer during cruise AE1910 in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2019-05-20 to 2019-05-23. These data include depth and water pressure. The instruments used to collect these data include MOCNESS1. These data were collected by Amy Maas and Leocadio Blanco-Bercial of Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences and Ann M. Tarrant of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as part of the "Collaborative Research: Diel physiological rhythms in a tropical oceanic copepod (Zooplankton Diel Rhythm)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2019-09-25. The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO: Continuous MOCNESS data files from AE1910 Dataset Description: Acquisition Description: The MOCNESS was oddly configured for this cruise. It was being powered by the new SIO system rather than the BESS instrumentation. All of the typical sensors had, however, been removed to support the use of a closing cod end system. Consequently the program did not calculate volume filtered (which you can calculate by multiplying flow counts by 5.8). Additionally there were some electronics errors (cast 5 and 6). These successfully captured organisms, but we flew the net blind. |
