The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Physical trajectory profile data from glider glos_236 deployed by Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) in the Great Lakes from 2015-09-21 to 2015-11-10 (NCEI Accession 0242909)
Abstract: Slocum glider data were collected during a southern Lake Michigan deployment from 2015-09-21 through 2015-11-10, a total of 50 days. This deployment was part of the CSMI coordinated deployment with the EPA. The glider initially deployed from Muskegon, MI and traveled south to the mouth of the Kalamazoo River. Then transverse the lake west to Racine, WI, passing the buoy 45007. Near buoy 45007 there is a co-located vertical temperature mooring maintained by NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. The glider then traveled south to Waukegan, WI, east to Benton Harbor, MI, north to the Kalamazoo River before returning to Muskegon, MI. From Muskegon the glider traveled to a station at 110 m water depth. This transect was repeated several times before crossing the lake west to Milwaukee, WI, and then returned to Muskegon, MI. Note, the glider was deployed in areas of Lake Michigan with at least 30 m of depth. The glider collected vertical profiles of conductivity, temperature, depth, chlorophyll, colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM), backscatter, and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) between depths of 0 and 130 m.

The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) received the data in this dataset from the Integrated Ocean Observing System's National Glider Data Assembly Center (IOOS NGDAC). The IOOS NGDAC received the data in one or more netCDF files comprising an entire glider deployment. The data are measurements of physical oceanographic properties such as temperature, salinity, conductivity, and density. The IOOS NGDAC checked the files for compliance to their netCDF file convention, aggregated the files into a single netCDF file, and then submitted the file to NCEI for long-term preservation.
