Title: The development and evaluation of small specialized turtle excluder devices to reduce sea turtle bycatch in small skimmer nets (NCEI Accession 0226612)
Abstract: This dataset contains records of Gulf of Mexico (GOM) white shrimp (Litopenaeus setiferus), and brown shrimp (Farfantepenaeus aztecus), and bycatch (other invertebrates, crustaceans, fishes, debris) which can be used to test for general usability of TEDs in the commercial small skimmer fisheries. The dataset contains records of targeted white shrimp and brown shrimp and bycatch (counts and CPUE) collected during tests of TEDs in small skimmer nets conducted in the north GOM near Dulac, LA and Ocean Springs, MS. Data also include testing information such as depth, boat speed, and georeferencing information.
