| Abstract: | This dataset includes navigational, physical, and underway data collected aboard the RV Atlantic Explorer during cruise AE1723 in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2017-10-23 to 2017-10-27. These data include CURRENT SPEED - EAST/WEST COMPONENT (U), CURRENT SPEED - NORTH/SOUTH COMPONENT (V), LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, course over ground, and speed over ground. The instruments used to collect these data include ADCP and GPS. These data were collected by Neal Pettigrew of University of Maine, and by Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences as part of Buoy Rescue. The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) submitted these data to NCEI as part of the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) program. A suite of navigation products produced by the Rolling Deck to Repository program is included in this accession, which include one high resolution, one 1 minute resolution, and one low resolution coordinate file. The ADCP data represent the raw dataset. Post processed quality assessed data are not available in this accession. |
