Abstract: XBT data were collected from MULTIPLE PLATFORMS from a World-Wide distribution. Data were collected by the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) from 14 June 2003 to 25 October 2003. Data were collected in support of the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP), and the NOAA Shipboard Environmental Data Acquisition System Program (SEAS).

NCEI has determined that the name of the platform "HORIZON PACIFIC" as documented in the data files is incorrect. The data files document the platform name as "HORIZON PACIFIC" whilst NCEI has determined the correct platform name is "SEA-LAND PACIFIC". The data files contained the Ship Name "HORIZON HAWAII" (Call Sign "KIRF") which NCEI was unable to find in the ICES Platform Code Database.
