Title: Oceanographic and meteorological data from XBT, CTD, meteorological sensors and other instruments from the SOVETSKIY SOYUZ, VAYGACH and other platforms in the Arctic and Coastal North Atlantic from 1996 to 2013 (NCEI Accession 0109882)
Abstract: Cruises took place from April 1996 to March 2013 in the Barents Sea and Arctic Ocean. Cruises were part of the long-term Ecological Monitoring program funded by the Russian Academy of Sciences and Murmansk Marine Biological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences to collect data for study of mechanisms of influence of Arctic environment on the state of marine life. Nuclear ice breakers were used as ship-of-opportunity to collect oceanographic data in the central Arctic and along the route of commercial cargo vessels (North Sea Route) in the Eastern Arctic Seas.
