Title: Turbidity, SOLAR RADIATION - ATMOSPHERIC and other data from MOANA WAVE in the TOGA Area - Pacific from 1992-04-15 to 1992-06-15 (NCEI Accession 9400087)
Abstract: The Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CTD) and other data were collected in TOGA Area - Pacific (30 N to 30 S) as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere and Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment. Data was collected from Ship MOANA WAVE. The data was collected over a period spanning from April 15, 1992 to June 15, 1992. Data was submitted by Dr. Roger Lukas of University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI. CTD data are distributed in a format specified by the international WOCE Hydrographic Programme Office (WHPO). Details of the format are provided in the accompanying documentation. Water sample data from COARE EQ-1 are written according to the *.sea files specified by the WOCE Hydrographic Programme (WHP) Office, for submission of these data. Formats for these files are detailed in the WHP Office Report WHPO 90-1, available from Dr. Terrence Joyce, Director, WHP Office, Dept. of Physical Oceanography, WHOI, Woods Hole, MA 02543.

Supplementary information: Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).

Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description.

To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
