Title: Nitrogen and carbon fixation rates from bulk water samples from R/V Atlantic cruise AT39-05, Feb-Mar 2018 (NCEI Accession 0278827)
Abstract: This dataset contains chemical data collected on R/V Atlantis during cruise AT39-05 in the North Atlantic Ocean and South Atlantic Ocean from 2018-02-11 to 2018-03-14. These data include nitrogen fixation rate. The instruments used to collect these data include Trace Metal Bottle. These data were collected by David A. Hutchins and Eric A Webb of University of Southern California as part of the "Collaborative Research: Iron and phosphorus balanced limitation of nitrogen fixation in the oligotrophic ocean (TriCoLim)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2020-05-04.

The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO:

Shipboard incubation experiments were carried out at 15 stations in the tropical Atlantic with trace metal clean-collected bulk water to examine iron (Fe) and phosphorus (P) co-limitation of dinitrogen (N2) fixation (see TriCoLim Station coordinates metadata). Treatments were: Co-limited control (no additions, “Colimit”), + 2nM Fe (“Fe”), + 50 nM P (“P”) and Replete (+Fe+P, “Rep”). All incubations were carried out at ambient (“Lo”) temperature and ambient temperature +3C (“Hi”) for 2-4 days on deck before measuring 15N2 and 13CO2 fixation rates and particulate organic carbon (POC) and nitrogen (PON).
