| Abstract: | This dataset contains chemical, optical, and physical data collected on R/V Knorr during cruise KN204-01 in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2011-11-07 to 2011-12-10. These data include depth, depth_bottom, dissolved Oxygen, light transmission (volts), salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, water pressure, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD Sea-Bird SBE 911plus, Dissolved Oxygen Sensor, Fluorometer, and Transmissometer. These data were collected by Edward A. Boyle of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Gregory Cutter of Old Dominion University as part of the "U.S. GEOTRACES North Atlantic Transect (U.S. GEOTRACES NAT)" project and "U.S. GEOTRACES (U.S. GEOTRACES)" program. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2023-01-23. The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO: CTD - GT-C Profiles (1 m downcasts) Dataset Description: CTD profile data from GT-C (GEOTRACES Carousel) 1m Downcasts CTD/Hydrographic Measurements Program Two types of rosette/SBE9plus CTD casts (65 SIOR/30L-Niskin and 40 GT-C/15L-GoFlo) were made at 22 station locations during GEOTRACES 2011. 13 shallow and 13 deep McLane pump profiles were done at all Full and Super Stations, with an SBE19plus CTD attached to the end of the wire. |
