According to data from NOAA's Storm Prediction Center, during June, there were 202 preliminary tornado reports. This is below the 1991-2010 average of 243 tornadoes for the month of June. Many of the June tornadoes occurred throughout the month in counts of 10 or fewer tornadoes per day. The most notable tornado event of the month occurred during June 15 and 16, in which 45 confirmed tornadoes developed across Illinois and Indiana with scattered tornadoes across the surrounding states. There were no reported deaths for this event. A second notable tornado event occurred on June 5 and 6, as 25 confirmed tornadoes were reported. The majority of these tornadoes were clustered in southern Louisiana. Several injuries but no deaths were reported.
