The data files used in the monthly global climate reports can be accessed via the links below. Please note that the temperature anomalies are with respect to the 1971–2000 average and provided in degrees Celsius.
Land and Ocean Temperature Anomalies grid file using NOAAGlobalTemp version 5.1.0
NOAAGlobalTemp, updated in February 2023, uses comprehensive data collections of increased global area coverage over both land and ocean surfaces. NOAAGlobalTempv5 is a reconstructed dataset, meaning that the entire period of record is recalculated each month with new data. Gridded data for every month from January 1850 to the most recent month are available in one netCDF file.
GHCN version 4.0.1 land temperature anomalies monthly grid files
GHCNM is the land component of the NOAAGlobalTemp dataset. Gridded data for every month from January 1850 to the most recent month is available. The data are temperature anomalies in degrees Celsius. There are 12 monthly files and one inventory file.
