The Baltic Sea, an enclosed sea opening only to the Skagerrak at parallel of 57 Degrees 45 Minutes N, is bounded by the coasts of Sweden, Finland, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Poland, German Democratic Republic, Federal Republic of Germany and Denmark. The limit between the Baltic Sea and the Skagerrak (see 1.1) is the following: A line joining Skagen Lighthouse (57 Degrees 45 Minutes N - 10 Degrees 35 Minutes 50 Seconds E), the northern extremity of Jutland in Denmark, eastward, along the parallel of 57 Degrees 45 Minutes N, to the coast of Sweden. |
