| Comments: | GLOBEC, a study of Global Ocean Ecosystem Dynamics, was initiated in 1990 by the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, and incorporated into the IGBP Core Element structure in 1995.
