Comments: The Pathfinder program was jointly developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to provide long-term, consistently calibrated global change data sets to Earth scientists. The 4 km Pathfinder effort at NODC and the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmsopheric Science (RSMAS) is an extension of, and improvement on, the sea surface temperature (SST) fields from the original NOAA/NASA AVHRR Oceans Pathfinder project.
