Comments: | Built c. 1930 in Aberdeen, Scotland for the Union Government of South Africa as a fisheries research vessel. Requisitioned in September 1939 by the South African Naval Forces and converted to a minesweeper (HMSAS Africana). Returned to South African Department of Sea Fisheries in April 1947, and sold to a private owner in 1950. Remained afloat as a fishing vessel until 1965.
