Code : 74GG Name : FREDERICK RUSSELL Flag : UNITED KINGDOM - GB (ISO Country Code) Title : RRS Platform Class : Research vessel IMO : 7347938 Built : 1974 Notes : Renamed Lough Foyle *Additional Information Sources:* None found . *Same Vessels Info:* *74LG* - LOUGH FOYLE *General Comments:* There was only one RRS Frederick Russell. She was a NERC research vessel, which meant that cruises could be run on her by any NERC laboratory or UK university department. So the labels on the ROSCOPs indicate who organised the cruise, not who operated the ship. She was always operated by NERC Research Vessel Services based in Barry. She was then transferred to the organisation then known as Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland (DANI) and renamed Lough Foyle, so they are the both the same ship. |
