Name : FRAM I Flag : UNITED STATES - US (ISO Country Code) Platform Class : 93 pack ice (not connected to land with ice concentration over 70%) Commissioned Date : 1979-03 Decommissioned Date : 1979-05 Notes : International camp. The FRAM drifting ice station established in March 1979 in the Eurasian basin at 84°24'N, 06°00'W. Program staged from Station Nord, on the northeast corner of Greenland, and included US, Danish, Norwegian, and Canadian participation. Nearly two months of data were collected as it drifted southward. Abandoned in May 1979. The program was staged out of Station Nord, on the northeast corner of Greenland, and included US, Danish, Norwegian, and Canadian participation. Nearly two months of data were collected as the ice station drifted southward, before ice cracking and ridging forced the station to be abandoned in May.
