"Aktyubinsk" 'Belek' type seal hunting vessel (project 220), UFRQ, home port Murmansk, built 1954. "Aktyubinsk" type Refrigerated Cargo Vessel (project 569), UUEB, 1956-08/1984, home port Kaliningrad, IMO 5007467 Kara Sea data are from the first ship based on home port location (Murmansk). Kaliningrad (Baltic Sea) is distant from the Kara Sea. It was a usual practice to use fishing vessels from nearby ports for Arctic research. Data attributed to this platform at USNODC are from 1950s. The data at NODC are from March-October 1956, so this would have been a USSR flag vessel, not a Russian Federation flag vessel. It may have been recommissioned in 1990, but we do not have any source to substantiate that.
