Medspiration has been created by ESA (European Space Agency) to serve as a European RDAC for GHRSST-PP (GODAE High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature Pilot Project), generating L2P and MDB satellite data products for the Atlantic Ocean and its adjoining seas. It will also assemble diagnostic datasets (GHRSST HR-DDS) in which all available L2P and L4 data for a number of select small areas are assembled together and resampled onto a common grid to assist intercomparison and characterisation of the different input data sources. Additionally Medspiration will have the task of producing an ultra-high resolution (2km) analysed SST product for the Mediterranean Sea. Within GHRSST files, the code for Medspiration is "EUR". Medspiration continues to operate the EUR RDAC within the Group for High Resolution SST (GHRSST), which evolved from the GHRSST-PP in 2008 when the GODAE project came to an end. |
