Data was collected as part of Integrated Global Ocean Service System (IGOSS) and was received from NOAA, OPC, Camp Springs, Maryland. The data on magnetic disk has been copied to current NODC data storage format. |

The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).
