Title: Images of Gorgonian Corals in the Gulf of Mexico taken from 2010-11-03 to 2010-12-14 in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill event (NCEI Accession 0084636)
Abstract: Images of Gorgonian Corals were taken during two cruises in the Gulf of Mexico in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill event. The first cruise was aboard NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown (RB-10-07) using the Remote operated vehicle (ROV) Jason II on dive J2-541 on 3 November 2010. The second cruise was aboard R/V Atlantis (AT18-03) using the Deep submergence vehicle (DSV) Alvin on dives A4660, A4661, A4662, and A4664 from 8 December 2010 to 14 December 2010. The PI for the Gorgonian Coral study was Dr. Charles R. Fisher of The Pennsylvania State University, Department of Biology.
