Title: SAMOS project underway oceanographic and quality-controlled meteorological data collected aboard NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from 2007-11-01 to 2007-11-22 (NCEI Accession 0057817)
Abstract: The data logging system on NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown recorded underway oceanographic and meteorological data from various instruments while cruising in the North Pacific Ocean and South Pacific Ocean from 2007-11-01 to 2007-11-22. During this period, as part of the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) project, the data logging system sent the data daily via e-mail to Florida State University (FSU), where the Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) quality-controlled (QCed) the meteorological data. COAPS submitted four versions of the data to the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI): the original data e-mailed by the data logging system, first-level (automatically and merged) QCed data, and second-level (visually) QCed data. NCEI Accession 0057817 contains all these data.
