The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Shallow CTD profiles collected from the NOAA ships Hi'ialakai, Towsend Cromwell and Oscar Elton Sette, near tropical pacific islands, atolls and shoals of the NE Pacific from 2000 to 2010 (NODC Accession 0039382).
Abstract: The Coral Reef Ecosystem Division of the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, part of the National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), conducted 4911 shallow CTD profiling casts at 45 Pacific islands, atolls and banks during 39 research cruises on the NOAA Ships Hi'ialakai, Townsend Cromwell, and Oscar Elton Sette in the years 2000 to 2010.

Shallow Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) casts are vertical profiles (max 30 meter depth, downcast only) of temperature, conductivity and pressure. Data are collected at select nearshore locations, both around islands or banks and within lagoons. Auxiliary sensors are sometimes used to measure additional oceanographic parameters such as fluorometry, beam transmission and dissolved oxygen.

NOTE: In this Accession, NODC has archived multiple versions of these data. The latest (and best) version of these data has the largest version number.

The profiles of 0039382 Version 1.1 were reprocessed by the data contributors (NOAA/NMFS/CRED) and resubmitted to NODC in February 2011, which became NODC Accession 0039382 Version 2.2. Version 2.2 also includes additional profiles not in Version 1.1. All data in NODC 0039382 Version 1.1, including profiles not in version 2.2, should be considered invalid.
