| Abstract: | The Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, part of the National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), conducted 22 cruises on the R/V Hi'ialakai, Townsend Cromwell, and Oscar Elton Sette to 50 islands, atolls, or shoals of the tropical and subtropical Pacific during 2000-2007. This data set is referred to as the "shallow" profiles, since they were taken in locations with sea floor depth of less than about 150 m. Hydrocasts were made at regularly spaced intervals around the study sites, both around islands or banks and within lagoons. Casts are to a depth of 33 m (typical). The instrument used to collect the data was a Seabird Instruments (www.seabird.com) 19plus CTD with a Wetlabs C-Star Transmissometer, although data from the later were not included in this set. Data format as MS Excel and redundant CSV text. |
