Title: Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) for Connecticut, 1994-2006-era land cover change analysis (NODC Accession 0038580)
Abstract: This data set is the 1994-2006-era classification for Connecticut, a subset of zone 65. This data set utilized 41 full or partial Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper scenes which were analyzed according to the Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) protocol to determine land cover.

Supplementary information: The Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) is a nationally standardized database of land cover and land change information, developed using remotely sensed imagery, for the coastal regions of the U.S. C-CAP products inventory coastal intertidal areas, wetlands, and adjacent uplands with the goal of monitoring these habitats by updating the land cover maps every five years.

The development of standardized, regional land cover information enables managers to coordinate the planning of shared resources, facilitating an ecosystem approach to environmental issues that transcends local and state regulatory boundaries. C-CAP has recently released two time periods of mapping for all of the Conterminous United States (CONUS), and is now working to update these products.

On 03 September 2009, Coastal Remote sensing began submitting C-CAP data to NODC cut to different geographies. To insure that you download the C-CAP data that are cut to most current geographies, please download data from accessions that have a date received that is on or after that date.
