Title: Processed CTD data from cruises R/V Atlantis (AT15-61) in Jan-Feb 2010 and R/V Melville (MV1104) in Mar-Apr 2011 in the Eastern Tropical South Pacific (NCEI Accession 0278673)
Abstract: This dataset contains biological, chemical, optical, and physical data collected on R/V Atlantis and R/V Melville during cruises AT15-61 and MV1104 in the South Pacific Ocean from 2010-02-01 to 2011-04-19. These data include O2 saturation, PAR, beam attenuation, conductivity, density, depth, dissolved Oxygen, fluorescence, salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, sound velocity, water pressure, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD Sea-Bird 911, CTD-fluorometer, LI-COR Biospherical PAR Sensor, Niskin bottle, Pressure Sensor, Sea Tech Transmissometer, Sea-Bird SBE 43 Dissolved Oxygen Sensor, Wet Labs CSTAR Transmissometer, and Wet Labs ECO-AFL/FL Fluorometer. These data were collected by Angela N. Knapp of Florida State University, Karen L. Casciotti of Stanford University, and Douglas G. Capone and William M. Berelson of University of Southern California as part of the "Expression of Microbial Nitrification in the Stable Isotopic Systematics of Oceanic Nitrite and Nitrate (Microbial Nitrification)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2021-05-07.

The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO:

Acquisition Description:
Seawater samples were collected on R/V Atlantis (AT15-61) cruise in Jan-Feb 2010 and on R/V Melville (MV1104) cruise in Mar-Apr 2011. Water samples were collected at discrete depths using Niskin bottle type rosette samplers equipped with either 24 bottles (10L) or 12 bottles (20L), and an SBE9plus conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) sensor package (SeaBird Electronics, Bellevue, WA).
