Title: | CTD hydrography and nutrients from casts conducted on R/V Kilo Moana cruises KM1919 and KM1920 from September to October 2019 (NCEI Accession 0278011) |
Abstract: | This dataset contains biological, chemical, optical, and physical data collected on R/V Kilo Moana during cruises KM1919 and KM1920 in the North Pacific Ocean from 2019-09-26 to 2019-10-19. These data include Ammonium, Nitrate, Nitrite, O2 saturation, PAR, SiOH_4, beam attenuation, depth, dissolved Oxygen, fluorescence, reactive phosphorus (PO4), salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, sigma-theta, water pressure, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD Sea-Bird 911, WETLabs ECO-FLNTU, and Wet Labs CSTAR Transmissometer. These data were collected by Allan Devol, Gabrielle Rocap, and Richard Keil of University of Washington as part of the "Dimensions: Diversity, assembly and function of microbial communities on suspended and sinking particles in a marine Oxygen Deficient Zone (ETNP_ParticleOmics)" and "Permanence of the recent expansions of the OMZ and denitrification regimes in the eastern tropical North Pacific (ETNP OMZ Denitrification)" projects and "Dimensions of Biodiversity (Dimensions of Biodiversity)" program. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2021-04-23. The following is the text of the dataset description provided by BCO-DMO: KM1919-KM1920 hydrographic and nutrient data Dataset Description: Acquisition Description: Data were collected CTD during cruises KM1919 and KM1920. The CTD data has been reprocessed and aligned, and outliers have been removed. Nutrient samples were filtered (Sterivex 0.22um) before analysis and analyzed using the US-JGOFS protocols ( http://usjgofs.whoi.edu/protocols_rpt_19.html ). All data are considered preliminary. Known Problems: Calibration salinity samples analyzed using an AutoSal salinometer agreed with CTD sensor 0, but sensor 1 was significantly off. Consequently, salinity values and derived values (density, oxygen, oxygen saturation) were calculated only from sensor 0. Sensor 1 data not included. |
