Title: CTD data from McMurdo Sound, Antarctica from 2012 to 2015 (McMurdo Predator Prey project) (NCEI Accession 0277341)
Abstract: This dataset contains biological, chemical, optical, and physical data collected at McMurdo Station during deployment McMurdo_CTDs_2012-2014 from 2012-11-21 to 2015-01-06. These data include Dissolved_Oxygen, O2sat, conductivity from the CTD primary sensor, density, depth, dissolved Oxygen, fluorescence, pH, potential temperature, salinity calculated from CTD primary sensors, sigma-t, sigma-theta potential density, sound velocity, water pressure, and water temperature. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD Sea-Bird SBE SEACAT 19plus, Niskin bottle, Sea-Bird SBE 43 Dissolved Oxygen Sensor, Wet Labs ECO-AFL/FL Fluorometer, and pH Sensor. These data were collected by Dr David G. Ainley of H.T. Harvey & Associates, Dr Stacy Kim of Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, Dr Grant Ballard of Point Blue Conservation Science, and Dr Kendra L. Daly of University of South Florida as part of the "Food web dynamics in an intact ecosystem: the role of top predators in McMurdo Sound (McMurdo Predator Prey)" project. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NCEI on 2023-01-23.

Supplementary information: Acquisition Description:
A small hole was drilled in the McMurdo Sound fast ice. The CTD was deployed below the fast ice to ~ 2 m depth. The CTD was then powered on and allowed to sit a few minutes until the pumps turned on and sensors stabilized and equilibrated. The CTD was then lowered using a hand winch to depths between 97 and 175 m.
