The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH on Total Scale, nutrients and other variables collected from profile and discrete sample observations using CTD, Niskin bottle and other instruments onboard Gordon Gunter in the northeast coast of the United States (Gulf of Maine, Georges Bank, Mid-Atlantic Bight) from 2017-05-17 to 2017-06-21 (NCEI Accession 0170177)
Abstract: This archival package contains dissolved inorganic carbon, Total alkalinity, pH on Total Scale, nutrients and other variables measured from profile discrete measurement in the Northeast coast of the US. Increasing amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide from human industrial activities are causing changes in global ocean carbon chemistry resulting in a reduction in pH, a process termed ocean acidification. Studies have demonstrated adverse effects on calcifying organisms, particularly some invertebrates, corals, sea urchins, pteropods, and coccolithophores. This effort is in support of the coastal monitoring and research objectives of the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program (OAP).
