The Ocean Archive System searches our original datasets as they were submitted to us, not individual points or profiles. If you want to search and retrieve ocean profiles in a common format, or objectively analyzed fields, your better option may be to use one of our project applications. See: Access Data

Title: Dissolved inorganic carbon, alkalinity, temperature, salinity and other variables collected from discrete sample and profile observations using CTD, bottle and other instruments from MARION DUFRESNE in the Indian Ocean, Mozambique Channel and Southern Oceans from 2004-01-03 to 2004-02-09 (NCEI Accession 0113572)
Abstract: NCEI Accession 0113572 includes biological, chemical, discrete sample, optical, physical and profile data collected from MARION DUFRESNE in the Indian Ocean, Mozambique Channel and Southern Oceans (> 60 degrees South) from 2004-01-03 to 2004-02-09. These data include CHLOROPHYLL A, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED OXYGEN, FLUORESCENCE, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), WATER TEMPERATURE and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle.

These data were collected by C. Lo Monaco of Universite Pierre et Marie Curie; Institut Pierre Simon Laplace; Laboratoire D'Oceanographie et du Climat: Experimentations et Approches Numeriques and Nicolas Metzl of Universite Pierre et Marie Curie; Laboratoire de Biogeochimie et Chimie Marines as part of the CARINA/35MF20040103, OISO-11 data set. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this data set: CARINA/35MF20040103 and OISO-11

The CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent data set of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.
